GENERAL

Studio directors are responsible for reading all published rules and regulations carefully to ensure routines are entered correctly. In case of any uncertainty, please contact Wanna Dance Canada for guidance.

All entries are due by January 10th 2025.

All entry fees are due in full by January 31st 2025. Any payments made after the final entry deadline are subject to a fee of 5% of the total entry fee for the event(s).

Wanna Dance Canada reserves the right to add/subtract event days.

Wanna Dance Canada reserves the right to cancel any event, or move an event to another date due to unforeseen circumstances.

Although Wanna Dance Canada makes every effort to resolve any unforeseen issues that may arise, Wanna Dance Canada will not issue refunds for, nor be held responsible for sudden cancellation or time lost due to unforeseen circumstances out of the control of Wanna Dance Canada. This includes, but is not limited to: extreme weather, pandemic, etc.

Routines must be family-friendly in nature. This includes, but is not limited to: music, choreography and costuming. Wanna Dance Canada is proud to provide a family-friendly event for all of our participants and guests. Any routine deemed inappropriate for a family audience due to music, choreography, or costuming will be adjudicated but will not be marked/eligible for high scores.

Contestants are understood to recognize the risks of physical injury inherent in dance and dance performances and be willing to assume those risks. It is agreed that participants will not hold Wanna Dance Canada or its directors or employees liable for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted by them while in attendance and/or performing in any activity at a Wanna Dance Canada event.

ON-SITE

Dancers should be ready to perform a minimum of 45 minutes prior to their scheduled time.

Where applicable, admission for spectators is $5/day. Wristbands can be purchased at the merch booth. Lost/removed wristbands will not be replaced.

All judges decisions are FINAL.

Large props may be placed in the backstage area no earlier than during the awards session prior to the performance session.

No substances of any kind are allowed on stage. This includes, but is not limited to: baby powder, flour, sand, glitter, lotion, water, and paint. This rule applies even if you have a clean-up team. No haze of any kind is allowed on stage.

In the event of a tie for any high score awards, a winner will be selected by the judges' panel.

A friendly atmosphere must be maintained. Bullying, harassment and unruly behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated from any guest (audience, dancer or studio representative) and will result in the removal from the event premises and disqualification.

No food or drink is permitted in the theatre/performance area unless noted otherwise. Only bottled water is permitted backstage.

Photo and video are strictly prohibited and will result in routine disqualification. Wanna Dance Canada reserves the right to confiscate or delete any photos and/or videos taken during a performance.

Parents/Guardians are not permitted in the backstage area during competition with the exception of those attending as independent entries.
